Aoko gave him another flat look.

Then...an evil smirk. "Really?" She asked, pulling a small black disk from her pocket.

Innocent. Totally innocent.

"So, if you're not Kaito, then you should mind," Aoko walked over, reaching up to put the small black disc on the shelf in front of him, "this," she said and pressed down on the top.

And a solid looking holographic fish popped up from it.

Yeah, there goes any attempt at dignity or cuteness or anything else really. He's trapped between a fish and a wall. Not cool Aoko. Not cool.

That's why you don't lie to the childhood friend and then slip up.

"So...still not Kaito?"

"Aoko, don't do that!"

"And why not~?"

She was clearly enjoying herself.

And he was clearly not.

"So, you going to tell Aoko the truth? Or does Aoko need to get her Kaito to prove the dimensional nexus thing?" Aoko asked.

"Takeitaway!"

Aoko laughed, reaching up for the disc and pulling it away. "Jeeze, you're too easy."

Pouty little kid face now, Aoko. Guess who's not speaking to you.

"So, what's your reason for lying to Aoko about her identity? Still hiding from those guys in black?"

Nope, not talking to you. You pulled a fish on him.

"I can put the fish back up there."

"You wouldn't dare."

Aoko grinned, tossing the disc into the air and catching it again. "There's a REASON I have it, you know."

"That's got to be cheating somehow."

"I learned from the best," Aoko said with a smirk. "Would it help to say I also already know about the Kaitou Kid thing?"

"So, did you murder your version of me when you found out?"

Aoko held up a hand, index finger and thumb close together. "That close to doing so. Instead, Aoko decided to ignore him for a few months until she got hit by a car and he kept her from being a science experiment. So I decided to forgive him."

"You got hit by a car."

"That's right." Aoko said and paused. "Oh, right...that sounds pretty bad...well, um, it wasn't because...I found out about Kaitou Kid on the night of the comet. Because I got taken with Pandora and Kaito rescued me that night and we kind of got the tears on us."

Oh. [And Poker Face is up in full force.] I was trying to keep you away from that, Ahoko.

A flat look in return. "Bakaito. You think Aoko wouldn't have gotten so mad at Kaitou Kid one day she wouldn't act like the detectives and go after you? It...just happened to be the wrong heist to do it."

Aoko sighed. "Either way...well, we're not dead because of it. We both got shot while escaping."
