Kaitou Kid opens a doorway and stumbles in without looking. Everything about him appears normal, the hat, the monocle, the suit, the cape, all except his customary poker face. That was missing, which was understandable since he was walking like a drunken cat.
Oh, and there were bloodstains on him. Brown splotches of dried blood were mainly concentrated around his suit's collar. If one looked carefully, there was even some on his neck. Yet strangely, no wound was anywhere in sight.
Kid staggers blindly over to a couch, and it would seem that the sight of the furniture gave him pause. "Did I enter the wrong house...?" His words came out weak. As if he had no strength to continue, he collapsed down into the maroon colored cushions with a groan. The thief didn't even bother to look around to confirm or deny his theory. If there was anyone else in the room, he didn't notice.

"Yes, I think I was attacked. Although that doesn't matter as I seem to be unharmed." He patted himself down in emphasis and grimaced at his sullied clothes. "Just a bit tired." That was followed with a yawn.
"Ah meitantei... I never pinned you for one with a sense of humor. Upon whose house did I stumble into if not yours?"
no subject
"Shinichi, if you don't mind. And you have found a house of incomparable strangeness." Pause. "It might be as well to tell me your name."

At that point, Kid was finally willing to consider that perhaps this wasn't just his own confusion. That, or he was really hurt a lot more than just this strange lethargy and being covered in blood.
He must be dreaming. It would explain the mysterious blood on his suit and a yukata wearing tantei asking to be addressed by name.
"Nope, don't remember what happened. Just another heist, then I felt a dark shape coming over me. I stumbled here when I woke up..." He chuckled, "Or is that fell asleep?" No harm in telling some truth to a dream companion. Kid scratched at his neck, flaking away some of the dried blood.

"A dark shape? And you do not show signs of being wounded ... undoubtedly, a spirit. You will probably die -- ah, do not touch that!" He scolded Kaito, batting his hand away from the wound. "You will let in the bacteria."

"Mei- ah, Shinichi-kun, I'm not going to die. I told you, I just feel tired and maybe a little thirsty. Hungry too..." Kid blinked again. Did one feel hunger in their dreams?

Well, if Kaito was about to die, then his last few hours should at least be pleasant. And if he didn't die, he should eat something -- either way, the apprentice was not going to get much reading done tonight. "Ah. If it is the dining room you are looking for, I will guide you there."
no subject
"There's even a dining room here?" Kid recovered and attempted to get up. "That sounds- ah..." And just as promptly, he sat back down.
"Maybe I'm not that hungry... just very thirsty. And Shinichi-kun... do you feel that it's getting hot in here?" He reached up to loosen his tie.

Shinichi watched Kaito attempt to stand and fail. "I do not feel hot. But then, I am not under a spirits curse. Would you like me to bring you something?"

Kid loosened his tie further and opened up the collar to his shirt. "It's getting stuffy... and hot. I'm really thirsty..." He looked up at the strange Kudou and stared. More correctly, his gaze was locked onto the open expanse of neck revealed by the loose yukata. For some reason, he couldn't tear away from the sight.
"And hungry..." he added in an almost soft hiss.
no subject
"It is more likely a spirit," he conceded, patting Kaito on his shoulder. "I will open the window."
He did just that, taking a moment to breathe in the evening air before turning back to Kaito. His condition seemed to be changing so quickly that Shinichi didn't want to leave him, but how else were they to get the drink? "Do you know what you want?"
no subject
"Water is fine, Shinichi-kun. That's the best thing for thirst." Kid made another attempt at getting up, and this time he succeeded in taking a step before it felt like his legs melted beneath him. He fell forward into his companion.
"Ah!"

His pupils dilated and a maniac gleam reflected from his eyes. "...you smell good."

He was utterly non-plussed by Kaito's remark. "Hah?"

Still being supported in Kudou's arms, Kid tried to reach across with gloved hands toward the samurai's bared neck. "I'm thirsty..." he whispered huskily.

However, his thirst was getting stronger. Kid completely tugged off his tie and loosened another button on his collar. His hunger was gnawing something fierce in him too. "Just bring back something. Fast."
If this really was a dream, Kid's mind must be working an active overtime. He groaned softly.

He had quickly accustomed himself to the Mansion's most stable paths and true to his word, it was not long before he was back, placing a hand on Kaito's arm to check his condition as he put the glass of water before him. "Still with the living?"
Note: I fail
At the faintest sound of the approaching footsteps, those eyes sprang open to reveal dark orbs tinged with a hint of madness. And perhaps it was the lighting, but those previously blue eyes looked slightly purple... or was that a tiny bit red?
"No?" When Kid moved his mouth, the pinpoints of fully grown fangs dimpled the edge of his lower lips. "You're back." Unlike his joking reply, these words came out as a throaty growl.

He took Kaito's gloved hand, wrapping it around the glass of water, noting how cool the other seemed. Now that physical evidence of the other's impending demise were showing, it was not as possible to think about the matter calmly. "Ah. And I have your water. Drink."
New comment thread when you reply? I feel squished.
Instead, he raised his other gloved hand and pressed it over Kudou's to keep his doppelganger's hand where it was. That hand which held Kid's was warm. Everything about Kudou was warm. The teenage samurai was pulsing with both life and that crimson liquid which pounded so loudly to Kid's suddenly sensitive ears. It was almost deafening in its rhythmic thumping, and it bothered him. A lot.
"Shinichi-kun," Kid purred as he yanked the not-tantei down with an abrupt pull on the hand. "I think I know what I want to drink."
