Kaitou Kid opens a doorway and stumbles in without looking. Everything about him appears normal, the hat, the monocle, the suit, the cape, all except his customary poker face. That was missing, which was understandable since he was walking like a drunken cat.

Oh, and there were bloodstains on him. Brown splotches of dried blood were mainly concentrated around his suit's collar. If one looked carefully, there was even some on his neck. Yet strangely, no wound was anywhere in sight.

Kid staggers blindly over to a couch, and it would seem that the sight of the furniture gave him pause. "Did I enter the wrong house...?" His words came out weak. As if he had no strength to continue, he collapsed down into the maroon colored cushions with a groan. The thief didn't even bother to look around to confirm or deny his theory. If there was anyone else in the room, he didn't notice.

Shinichi shrugged. "People die every day. I would prefer you didn't of course, but since there are spirits involved it is probably inevitable."

He was utterly non-plussed by Kaito's remark. "Hah?"

Shinichi was not impressed. He pushed Kaito back onto the sofa. "Even Hattori is not that forward," he scolded. "Have you forgotten yourself, Kaitou Kid-san?"

You could not expect someone dying of a curse to follow the forms of politeness, Shinichi decided charitably. Or even to follow a normal path of conversation. "I pushed you and you are now sitting down. I shall get that water now?"

At the groan, Shinichi changed his mind about the smart remark he'd been about to make. Dying was no small matter after all. "I will not be long," he assured Kaito, slipping out the door.

He had quickly accustomed himself to the Mansion's most stable paths and true to his word, it was not long before he was back, placing a hand on Kaito's arm to check his condition as he put the glass of water before him. "Still with the living?"

Shinichi was quiet a long moment. Had he imagined or had he seen ... ?

He took Kaito's gloved hand, wrapping it around the glass of water, noting how cool the other seemed. Now that physical evidence of the other's impending demise were showing, it was not as possible to think about the matter calmly. "Ah. And I have your water. Drink."
