[And, this is a very non-canon Shinichi, to be seen floating cross-legged with his eyes shut in the middle of the lobby. If you've seen the Star Wars prequels, you might recognise the brown Jedi robes and leather tunic as being padawan wear, and most notably for his rank, the braid that hung down over his shoulder onto his front.

After just a moment hovering there, he opens his eyes with a snap and falls to the floor with a rather undignified thump. He's starting to look worried.]

Stars, it's as though everyone just... disappeared. [Cue pacing around, not really taking anything in, but he's still talking to uh, himself. Or the Force. Take your pick. You might also be able to recognise the familiar-looking metal cylinder bumping against his leg.] Of course, I didn't feel them die, they simply vanished, not... and aside from that, I can feel a whole load of people here, too...

(ooc: This is a free verse, so feel free to play around in the sandbox - I'm still testing it out, and I what I write up here and in the character journal are mostly all I've got on it. Have fun~)

Confidence is good. [He's grinning slightly, maybe teasing.] It means that you're aware of what you can do. And when there's something that I can't do, I trust in the Force to find me a way of doing it.

[Laughing nervously, remembering exactly that.] She says that at least I'm not looking to be a poster boy like Skywalker.

That sounds about right.

I'd have to say that your judgement on that is better than mine. [Is that a smile? Maybe.]

Let's just say that the Shinichi I grew up with would be in a lot of trouble if he didn't have me to look out for him.

I rather hope that's not simply because he isn't aided by the Force in your world, Miss Ran.

Just Ran, please. And I think it's more to do with the fact that he attracts trouble like no one's business.

If you're new, you haven't been shown around yet, right?

Just Ran it is, then. And I can take that - I don't know how I could have gotten through some of my adventures if I hadn't been a Jedi.

By adventures you mean trouble, right? [Ran is unimpressed. Better make the first place she shows him the infirmary.]

It's a bit hard to give a tour in a place where rooms move around, but if you don't mind that, I'll give it a try.

Missions can be trouble, yes, but it's official trouble. The Council sends Jedi out to keep the peace, and if the Trade Federation or the Seperatist movement happened to be in the area, then it's not our fault.

So long as it's not entirely without reason, I'm sure I'll be fine.

Well ... it depends what you mean by 'entirely without reason.'

I suppose I mean 'Is it something that I can understand and won't turn itself against me without warning', then.

[He opens his mouth to object to the implication that he'll be needing the infirmary more than anywhere else, but closes it again, opting instead to just follow after, hands tucked into the sleeves of his robes. Admittedly looking slightly grumpy.]

[Good because that wasn't up for discussion. Ran opens a door, pleased that the infirmary seems to be where she left it.]

Here it is? Does it look much different to the one's where you're from?

The general principle isn't changed... but there are a lot of things that I don't recognise at all. Or that seem outdated. You don't have any droids at all here?

Not unless we've suddenly acquired an Agasa.

Agasa...? [Cue confused blinking.] I... think we have a mechanic with a name like that...

Just as well. I can't imagine him as a knight somehow.

Portly fellow? Good with the younglings but not so good with what he's supposed to be working on? If that's who you mean, then I'll have to agree.

He's Shinichi's neighbour back home. They've got an Uncle-nephew like relationship -- really good friends.

[...He's trying to imagine that kind of thing. It's weird. But he remembers talking with the man sometimes when he'd still been a youngling, and if he took away the fact that he was to grow up to be Jedi from the picture, then he could see this other Ran's scenario much easier.]

...I imagine it must be interesting, living with that many constant explosions.
