[Today, the kitchen/dining area is occupied by a different flavor of Kaito, who has five cards strewn out in a line on the table before him, each one face down. He's reaching out and flipping them over to reveal the faces in random order, before he turns them over again.

Ace of spades, queen of hearts, four of diamonds, ten of clubs, two of hearts, and back to the ace which has mysteriously been transformed to a king of diamonds.

He continues this random pattern for a while, the five cards on the table changing their faces each time he flips them over.

Until he stops suddenly and lifts a card up to frown at it]

... damn it, this wasn't supposed to be a Jack, it was supposed to be another ace.

[he sighs and mumbles to himself as he collects the five cards and produces the rest of the deck from (seemingly) nowhere to shuffle it]

Might as well try again.

[Even the best magicians need practice]

That's fine. [He's still watching, but it's quite relaxed for him. After so many times in being totally decimated by Kaito in poker, the 'figure out how he cheats' version of poker became the norm.]

[Oh, very closely, but even then, it can be difficult. Being Kid and all. He puts down three cards, drawing three from the deck.]

Hmmm....yeah. [He never did have very strong luck, so he doesn't have that good of a hand.]

[he drops four tens-- and an Ace high]

[Conan puts down three nines with a five and a seven.] No trick that time?

I don't know. Was there? [sorry, Conan, he's not going to be forthcoming about that. He gathers their cards and discards them, giving the deck to Conan to deal]

I don't believe there was. [Shuffling the cards and dealing out the cards before setting down the deck.]

[takes his cards, discards three, and doesn't answer.

[he drops his hand again-- two sevens, and three Jacks. A full house.

He grins]

[he's gathering the cards to deal again]

[he figured he had won. Still grinning smugly, he deals again]

You're one for two. That's not too bad. [since he did get the no sleight hand right]

[Picks up his cards, putting down four and drawing again.] It won't stay that even for long.

[Eyes narrowed.] Now you're underestimating your own skills? That's depressing, Kaito.

Ah, but I sad it won't stay even for long. And you say 'yeah right,' which means you think it'll stay even. [Smirking. He knows that's not what he meant, but it's fun to tease.]
