[Today, the kitchen/dining area is occupied by a different flavor of Kaito, who has five cards strewn out in a line on the table before him, each one face down. He's reaching out and flipping them over to reveal the faces in random order, before he turns them over again.

Ace of spades, queen of hearts, four of diamonds, ten of clubs, two of hearts, and back to the ace which has mysteriously been transformed to a king of diamonds.

He continues this random pattern for a while, the five cards on the table changing their faces each time he flips them over.

Until he stops suddenly and lifts a card up to frown at it]

... damn it, this wasn't supposed to be a Jack, it was supposed to be another ace.

[he sighs and mumbles to himself as he collects the five cards and produces the rest of the deck from (seemingly) nowhere to shuffle it]

Might as well try again.

[Even the best magicians need practice]

I was watching. I'm confident I would have.

[more card discarding as he takes the deck for his turn to deal]

Cheater.

I said if you used real magic, I was allowed to do so too. I never said you had to actually use it on the cards.

[more grumbling]

Still cheating.

It was fair warning.

[... just to be mean, he flicks his wrist and magicks the glasses off of Conan's face]

You do realize I don't need those to actually see, right?

I know. Doesn't mean I can't have fun with them.

...that sounded foreboding.

Does it? I hadn't noticed.

I'm serious about not breaking them. I have to pretend for Ran's and other people you know.
