Locked to Deaduction

It took a bit of searching, but Conan managed to find it. He knew his alternate had been looking for some sort of study or perhaps library to 'haunt.' After that, it was just finding which study was most likely the sort for him to haunt.

The one with the little shrine was pretty much a dead give away.

Since their last encounter, he'd been worried about his other's fate. So here he was, waiting. His other would return eventually.

If he was still around.

He just had to determine when it was too long and really starting to fear the worse.

Conan looked at Shinichi, a thoughtful, somewhat distant look on his face. "...it's hard, trusting others to do something like dealing with them. Whenever we made a move against them, I made sure I was there. I didn't feel...satisfied, not being there to see what was going on."

He hesitated a moment. "I'm...not the one to ask whether something is good or not when dealing with the Black Organization." Shinichi didn't need to say 'bad' for him to hear it.

Shinichi nodded. He and Haibara were like that in the way they kept checks on each other and the other investigators -- but no one else knew the situation like they did.

"Aren't you? I can't think of anyone else." Shinichi paused, some of his newfound command of himself slipping, his edges fading somewhat. "It's been me and Haibara for so long. It's easy for lines to get blurred."

Conan shook his head. "I'm not. Part of the reason why I don't want you in those memories. Even if I know it's a lie...those feelings are still there. I...can't say either way with true conviction what the right thing to do is," Conan said, bowing his head. "If it was anyone else, I could say it's wrong to kill them without hesitation, but those men..."

Shinichi was silent a long moment, thinking.

"We want to get everyone of them," he said at last. "Documented. Their files, their data, all their experiments, everyone they've killed, delivered to the police, the FBI, the CIA all at once -- that way they can't try their usual trick of killing anyone who knows. Too many targets, they can't suppress the truth.'

Conan was silent for several moments. "...huh, now that is an idea..."

"Collating the data's the hard part. We can come and go and watch and listen, but putting it together in hard copy --" Shinichi's appearance takes on more of a solid aspect as he talks about their plans. "One of the things that being here might help with."

"Well, I can offer you a key piece of information. If you don't know it, anyway," Conan said. "The boss's number."

"You've got that too?" Shinichi grinned with something of his trademark confidence. "Let's compare notes."

Conan smirked. "Lucky I still got my notebook transferred with me, going around these worlds," he said.

"Really lucky." There was just a suggestion of jealousy there. Shinichi picked at the sleeves of his dark jacket. "Mum said it ruined the line of my suit. Conan was insisting it was what I would have wanted but then Dad decided it might possibly have contained a clue, so they ended up taking it."

"Did it contain a clue?" Conan asked.

"The little progress I'd made on the Organisation. Nothing next to what we have now."

"Is there a way for ghosts to get things without it being on their body?"

Shinichi considered. "You mean like my baseball cap?"

"Yeah. If you can get that to stay, maybe you can get a notebook?"

Shinichi considered. "A place this ridiculously well-stocked has to have stationary."

"And when you think about it, if they're stocking it for people of our world...there HAS to be supplies of key detective equipment somewhere.."

Shinichi grins. It's not his usual grin, but it's the closest he's mustered in the course of the conversation. "When you put it like that ..."

"Next case is tracking down where they keep it all?"

"If this were a hotel, the office would be centrally located, right? First or second floor, you think?"

"That or the basement," Conan said. "Ever find a basement?"

Shinichi hesitates. "... yes."

"What's there?"
