After some time in the infirmary, Shinichi's recovered enough to be moved to his own room. The novelty of sleeping in a bed and the fact that he is genuinely exhausted has kept him to the room, resting and recovering for the last few days. He is still far from well -- but he has run out of books and orange juice, Ran-kun hasn't been by for an entire hour and he is able to stand up without feeling like he is going to be sick.

In these circumstances, there is really only one thing you can do.

There is a pale Shinichi, wrist bandaged, and wearing a pair of pyjama pants and a t-shirt lent to him by Ran-kun making his way slowly down the hall, sword casually knotted to his side with his somewhat stained obi. He has the expression of someone who knows he is in trouble but intends to get as far as he can regardless.

"I gave you Shinichi -- before you attacked me." There was an edge to Shinichi's voice, even if his sword shook. It was heavy, but he would not move. "Or do you not remember?"

Kaitou's body tensed a little, though he tried to cover it up with a smile.

"No... i remember. I just wanted you to refresh my memories. And when did i really attack you, Shin-chan? I simply flew in. Now, all i want to know is... who caused you your injury."

Was the other mocking him or merely trying to confuse him? Shinichi scowled, trying to will himself calm and steady. "It was days ago, in this house," he said coolly. "I do not remember more than that; I have been resting." He narrowed his eyes at the second question. "You did."

Kaitou's eyes widened in shock, and he didn't even bother hiding it this time. This Shinichi was injured, yet he seemed the same... other than the sword. But when did HE attack Shin-Chan?

He thought back trying to remember what he did the past few days. Not once did he attack nor see this Shinichi, yet the other blamed him.

"Not me you blame, Shin-chan. As much as I'd hate to say this, I've never met you till this day... Nor once have I attacked you. It was some other me. Some other Kaito." It must have been. But which one.

"Some other ... ?" From what he knew of this place, it was a possibility. But how to be sure? His clouded head just didn't want to think.

"Even if what you say is true, I do not know that I can trust you."

"Oh come on, Shin-chan!... Fine. I'll give up for now, but believe me, you'll see. You WILL trust me." Kaitou said, before grinning. Then as fast as lightning, he threw something on the ground. After a moment it exploded, and then he was gone, leaving behind only a note with a picture of his signature smile.
