Kaitou Kid opens a doorway and stumbles in without looking. Everything about him appears normal, the hat, the monocle, the suit, the cape, all except his customary poker face. That was missing, which was understandable since he was walking like a drunken cat.
Oh, and there were bloodstains on him. Brown splotches of dried blood were mainly concentrated around his suit's collar. If one looked carefully, there was even some on his neck. Yet strangely, no wound was anywhere in sight.
Kid staggers blindly over to a couch, and it would seem that the sight of the furniture gave him pause. "Did I enter the wrong house...?" His words came out weak. As if he had no strength to continue, he collapsed down into the maroon colored cushions with a groan. The thief didn't even bother to look around to confirm or deny his theory. If there was anyone else in the room, he didn't notice.

Sure!
No matter what, this couldn't be good.
"...What is it? What happened?" He took a couple of steps further in. "...Kaito? Are you all right?"

Wide eyes picked up the beginnings of a pokerface as the mini-tantei approached. The thief absorbed that the other's hand seemed to be all healed. "I'm..." Avoiding answering what he had no answers for, Kid moved on, "I'm glad you recovered, tantei-kun. It's strange to hear you use 'Kaitou' without the 'Kid'."
no subject
"Recovered? But I- Oh. You're new, aren't you? I- I'm not the tantei-kun you met before. What did I look like before, then?"
He thought about following him up on the whole 'recovered' thing.. but if he was in this sort of state, that might not be the best idea. At least not yet. He did want to know what had happened, sooner or later.

Failing to make sense of any of this, Kid decided to just answer the question. If he was lucky, the chibi might be able to enlighten him afterward. "You were... ah... Kudou-kun again, wearing a yukata and carrying a strange sword." But recalling that specific image brought other images, and Kid grew a little green. "I bit you..." he whispered.
no subject
"Ah... I think I've heard of them. Apparently, there's a Ran and a Shinichi who're from the past." Then Kaito's whispered explanation in three words caused him to close his eyes and breathe. "You bit-" he swore. Now that he knew what to look for, it was glaring him in the face. "Stay right there. I'm going to the kitchen. Do not go anywhere, and no matter what, don't go looking for trouble. I'll be back in two minutes, at most."
He kept reassuring himslef that it wasn't his Kaito - if it was, then he'd know that Shinichi knew who Kid was. But it did little for him when the Kaitou Kid in there was just how he'd been when he'd first woken up. Only this was different - it was Kaito. The Kaitou Kid. And the Kid didn't hurt anyone.
In one minute, he was in the hall, the next he was in the kitchen, heaping blood packs into a hold-all. As soon as he thought he had enough, he was back to the hall as quickly as his non-human but short legs could carry him.

The talk with the chibi, short as it was, calmed him down enough to process the events with a little more even of a mind. Assuming this wasn't a nightmare, then he was... Where? Or what too, for that matter. Last thing he remembered was being 'attacked' by a shadow, then waking up in a dreamlike state caked in blood. Which should have scared him, but his foggy consciousness was conveniently too thick for him to react. Afterward, he swore he opened the door to the Kuroba house, but he had stepped right into that weird study instead. And when he walked back out, it was into the rest of this place, wherever 'this' may be.
Even recalling it like that, none of it made any sense still.
That was the furthest his shaken mind could process before he found chibi-kun was in the room again. He hadn't even heard him walk in. "What are you--" He stared at the packets in the child's arms and Kid simply froze.

Breathe. Just... breathe. And try not to panic.
"Just... you said you bit him, right? The other Shinichi. Well, if these help, then - then you don't have to bite people. All right?"
He smiled wanly, trying to ignore the feeling of slight nausea that came with having to go through any of this. Do what needed to be done.

The chibi was handling this a lot better than Kid was, especially since the thief didn't even know what he was supposed to think. For a while, he just stared silently at the packets while tantei-kun prattled on about something. Most of what the detective said went right over the his head.
At long last, Kid found his voice and pointed a shaking finger at the blood held out to him. "...I'm supposed to drink that?" He squeaked.

He paused a beat.
"And if I'm wrong, then you can call me a dozen rude names and I can run away from here in shame, and I'll let you ridicule me as much as you like," he finished in a deadpan.
no subject
"T-t-that can't b-be." With a shaking hand, Kid reached up and rubbed at his neck where the caked blood was before. Most of it had flaked off in his movements, but his gloved hand still came away smudged with brown flecks.
"V-vampire?" This was all wrong.

He sighed. "It makes sense. What you told me, and what I saw for myself." Then he looked at Kaito fiercely. "But you know what? I'm still me. I don't hurt people. That's why they're there." He gestured toward the packets on the floor.
(ooc: Apologies for any fail that may or may not happen here~)

"Okay," he said, hoping his voice didn't sound as weak as his stomach. "So I've been turned into vampire. And you don't sound like you are newly turned into one. Which means, tantei-kun, you have either been a very good liar for the past several times we met, or you are not the same person I've encountered lately." The more analytical part of Kid's head was finally working, and temporarily, it kicked enough gears to work to steer Kid into a steadier frame of mind.
[OOC: I don't see any fail~]

He put a hand to his forehead. "I've been like this for a good while now. About a month and a half before I came here. A few months more since then."
(ooc: You're too kind.)

Crossing his legs, he sat up straighter and pondered over it. "From what you called me earlier, in your world, you are on very friendly terms with me." The thought was a little unsettling, but given the amount of surprises he got within the past half hour, this was the mildest of them all.
Kid tore open a packet of blood and sipped from the IV tube like it was a juice box. While the taste was a bit strange, at least his new senses seemed to accept it. "I wish the chibi from home would learn to be as open minded as you. Ah." He paused for a sip. Everything was starting to be a bit less unnerving now that his problems had turned intriguing instead.
"Tell me more about this place, tantei-kun.... Wait, are you a tantei, vampire-san? The other Kudou-san claimed he wasn't."
no subject
"You could say that," he said wryly. "We're friends. We trust each other, and if that's hard enough to believe, Hattori and Hakuba even tolerate each other's presence nowadays."
"I'm sure he could learn to be. He just needs the right kind of incentive. After all, it was Holmes himself who said that once we eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. Right?" He was grinning at the end, though, knowing how annoying the thief found his incessant references to Holmes and Doyle.
"Yes, I am a detective. The other me said he wasn't because he came from a world where he's a samurai. Or at least training. Or something." He took a deep breath. "If you talk to the ones who like technobabble, they'll call this place a Multidimensional Nexus, or something like that. But most of the time we just call it the Mansion - because that's what it is. Great big mansion, loads of rooms that move around, endless amount of corridors and rooms. Whatever we need, whatever we want. So long as we don't try for anything specific. Like the blood - not from anyone, but it appears whenever I go looking for it. Or whenever I expect it to be there, which is sometimes just as annoying as it is useful."
He sat down then, leaning back against the wall.

The packet was empty by the time the chibi finished, and he was feeling well enough to make the empty bag 'disappear' in a little puff of smoke. "Well, sounds like I got myself transported to a multidimensional mansion. Interesting... but if it wouldn't trouble you, can you show me the way out? I can't seem to exit through the door I entered."
no subject
"...Sorry. That's the other thing. We don't know how we get here, and we don't get to have a say on when we go home. Although according to some of the others who've been here longer, we get back the moment we left. And without any memory of having been here, too." He shrugged. "No personal experience, unfortunately."
no subject
"But tantei-kun, how will they know they left here if they have no recollection of here? Or send word back, for that matter?"

(Also... ?)

Giving in to an urge he had for a while, he reached out and ruffled the chibi's hair. Might as well choose a version that was safe to do so with, an advantage of multiple personalities. "Tantei-kun, why don't you show me around this mansion place?"
(OOC: Also... what?)
no subject
"O-oi! Stop that, you..." Grumbles faded into a very strong glare. "And are you sure you're ready for that yet? No offence, but you looked like you were in a state just a few minutes ago. Give it a few minutes or something, huh?" To illustrate his point, he grabbed one of the packs for himself.
(ooc: That sentance in the first paragraph cut off. Was wondering if there'd been anything missed out.)

"I'm going to have to go exploring sooner or later." What he didn't say was he was trying to keep himself busy with this multidimensional world idea to not think about the other things.
(OOC: ACK! I didn't even notice that. It must have happened during the copy and paste. Either way, disregard it now.)
no subject
"I'd advise later rather than sooner. It's hard enough having to deal with all of this when it's all new. Harder, I can only imagine, when you add all this to the mix. And what happened back there. So... care to tell someone who wants to listen about what happened?"
(ooc: Is fine. I'm going offline now, but I'll be back~)

In a way, pokerface had returned during their talk. Bickering and chatting was a staple part of their interaction, and Kid took comfort in that. The tantei offering to hear his problems out, however, was definitely not. Kid glanced hesitantly at his pale companion from the corner of his eyes and pulled his top hat down further to shadow his face.
"I'm trying to not think about it," he whispered in the darkness of the room.
[OOC: That's okay. I'm heading to bed too. Looking forward to your reply tomorrow! Oh, start a new comment thread? Let's give ourselves some writing space.]

Poker Face. When it came to that, not reacting to the fact that he could practically see through it most of the time was merely a way of being polite. He wouldn't be about to disenchant this Kaito so quickly, though.
It was because of that though, that he opened his mouth, but chose not to say anything, instead settling for an understanding nod. "I can take that. Personal experience and all. But remember I'm hear to listen if you do. Vampires sticking together and all that, right?"
He smiled at the last. Even though it was actually happening to them, it still sounded surreal.
(ooc: Sure! I usually just use the 'reply' button from the email, though.)
