Kaitou Kid opens a doorway and stumbles in without looking. Everything about him appears normal, the hat, the monocle, the suit, the cape, all except his customary poker face. That was missing, which was understandable since he was walking like a drunken cat.

Oh, and there were bloodstains on him. Brown splotches of dried blood were mainly concentrated around his suit's collar. If one looked carefully, there was even some on his neck. Yet strangely, no wound was anywhere in sight.

Kid staggers blindly over to a couch, and it would seem that the sight of the furniture gave him pause. "Did I enter the wrong house...?" His words came out weak. As if he had no strength to continue, he collapsed down into the maroon colored cushions with a groan. The thief didn't even bother to look around to confirm or deny his theory. If there was anyone else in the room, he didn't notice.

Sorry ... ?

Shinichi tensed as room filled with smoke, bracing himself for an attack. He was glad for once that Mouri had insisted both he and Ran learn to use their weapon ambidextorously. But no attack came, and once the cloud had passed, Shinichi saw himself to be alone -- for the moment at any rate.

Shaken, he leant against the wall, struggling to draw his breath. The front of his yukata now bore a vivid red stain -- he should try not to look at, Shinichi told himself firmly. Move. Move now.

He should find the infirmary. Bandages -- The corridor seemed to dip slightly as he made his way down it. Ran-kun too -- he would need someone to watch his back and there was no one more reliable than his friend. Shinichi summoned a deep breath, and like Kaito before him, left the room. Only the glass, still lying in its puddle of water, and a few crimson splashes on sofa and carpet gave any hint to what had unfolded within the room.
