[Toichi was not one to often seem like he was taken off guard. Even when he was, it was amazing how he kept most people from realizing it. This situation he's found himself in, however?
Well, even the great Kuroba Toichi has to have a bit of a 'bwuh' look at finding himself suddenly in a dining hall when he had been just walking into the kitchen. And quite the expansive dining hall at that with all the food prepared.
Sure, he could pull off a disappearing act, but he usually knew where he was going to end up.]
How...strange.
[Oh, and something to note? This Toichi looks...older then some people might know him as. At least eight years older than most Kaito's would remember him, in fact.]

O-oyaji?! Damn it, why couldn't this've been earlier, not like this...
[Words kinda sound like white noise at the moment. He's really, really trying his best not to be noticed, but his morbid curiosity (ironic, in the situation) forces him to stay put, watching. It's dad. He can't go...]

...there are no icons for what he's feeling.
And this icon here is not really adequate.
There really are no icons for them in this scenario.
And yet my keywords fit so well.
That they do.
I meant metaphorically, not just literally.
Always good to get both.

He recognises that voice, and is rather unsure about how to feel. It's like the confusion he had with his mother, with Kaito, but amplified.
So, to start, he reaches out and grabs his tophat from thin air, settling it on his head with quick, precise movements. Then he turns.
The effect is spoilt by the piece of toast still in his mouth, which he removes, chewing neatly.]
Hullo, Toichi-kun~
[Where the 'kun' came from, he's not quite sure, but perhaps a method of distance, especially now he can see the age weathering the man's face beyond what he remembers from Toichi's and Kaito's memories.]
