[Toichi was not one to often seem like he was taken off guard. Even when he was, it was amazing how he kept most people from realizing it. This situation he's found himself in, however?

Well, even the great Kuroba Toichi has to have a bit of a 'bwuh' look at finding himself suddenly in a dining hall when he had been just walking into the kitchen. And quite the expansive dining hall at that with all the food prepared.

Sure, he could pull off a disappearing act, but he usually knew where he was going to end up.]

How...strange.

[Oh, and something to note? This Toichi looks...older then some people might know him as. At least eight years older than most Kaito's would remember him, in fact.]

Which is sort of what I meant. But then there're the times when they get entirely the wrong end of the stick. And then there's either embarrassment or a great deal of... no. Just embarrassment.

Great. She call it that? And... old friend? [Curiosity. Since the man's not alive where he's from, he doens't know all of his dad's old friends. Except for the Kudos, that is.]

No. She was quite....tsundere when she talked about you. Said she would control you and all that, but she had a sort of gentleness in how she said it. Though it might not be obvious.

And yes. As I'm sure you're aware, magic exists. I was doing him a favor when it concerned something a bit too dangerous to let float around and he'd ask her help for making sure nothing unfortunate happened when retrieving it and putting it away.

And it does, most of the time. But I'm still allowed to make fun of the time they thought the cat was running messages to the boss. That was just plain hilarious.

I'll admit that she has the capacity to be a very nice girl. Sometimes. You'd have to ask someone else about that side of her, though, because all I usually get is a variation on 'But we could have been so good together'. [a shudder says it all.]

Haven't heard that one before. Should I know him, then?

[Grins.] I see that part doesn't seem to change either. Kaito is very perturbed back home, but will begrudgingly admit she can be nice.

Hmmmm, probably not. We only met by chance some years ago. His name is Albus Dumbledore.

Kisaki-obasan's, would you believe. It kept wandering off, and a couple of purely coincidental events lead to the reason why we now call the boss 'Mr. Tiddles'. Because the cat deserved better, and I couldn't think of anything more incriminatingly disturbing for a hard criminal to be called. We all agreed on it, too.

Shame she doesn't show it so much when I'm around.

Well, it seems he uses my heists as a mental break from murders. He's quite lively and more childish than he usually is from what I've seen. If a bit...zealous.

Because a submissive woman is boring?

That fits pretty well with how he is back home. Crime is a puzzle, heists are games. One of the few times he can actually let loose, I'd say.

...Aoko or Koizumi as submissive is a terrifying thing to imagine.

Ah, but then he does have a bit more of a clue. Better an idea than to do something completely new out of the gate all of the time. Especially with his luck. Now if he had Mouri-chan's luck, that's a different story.

Perhaps. He does tend to come across crime scenes more frequently than I'd like. Karmic would explain how it all balances out around him, I suppose...

Well, it might explain his leg up on the taskforce and Hakuba. They don't deal with murders, so they don't get to counter the Kid luck.

How good is he at poker?

Fairly good, even when we're not cheating. And I think you'd be surprised at the sort of things he's been involved in.

One of my finer achievements. We're that much better when we work as a team~

Yup! But the times when we're playing against people who can see me are just as fun, you know.

That and a few other things. The first... first hand account. Which was actually rather therapeutic for both of us, believe it or not. The second? Well... experiences since then. And a helluva lotta research. Seriously, at this rate? He's going to start needing glasses at some point.
