[Today, the kitchen/dining area is occupied by a different flavor of Kaito, who has five cards strewn out in a line on the table before him, each one face down. He's reaching out and flipping them over to reveal the faces in random order, before he turns them over again.

Ace of spades, queen of hearts, four of diamonds, ten of clubs, two of hearts, and back to the ace which has mysteriously been transformed to a king of diamonds.

He continues this random pattern for a while, the five cards on the table changing their faces each time he flips them over.

Until he stops suddenly and lifts a card up to frown at it]

... damn it, this wasn't supposed to be a Jack, it was supposed to be another ace.

[he sighs and mumbles to himself as he collects the five cards and produces the rest of the deck from (seemingly) nowhere to shuffle it]

Might as well try again.

[Even the best magicians need practice]

Kaito.

We're talking about a packet of skim milk powder.

...

Once mixed, [Brand name] Skim Milk Powder should be kept refrigerated and treated as fresh milk. Opened packs are best stored in an airtight container in the refridgerator. Store unopened packs in a cool, dry place.

That's a book! An important book!

Are you even thinking about what you're saying?

[identity profile] are-too-holmes.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
You're advocating rights for Skim Milk.

[identity profile] are-too-holmes.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
I'm advocating not destroying a book. Slight difference.

[identity profile] are-too-holmes.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
In that case I suggest you rethink your stance on the door.

You didn't answer my question.

[identity profile] are-too-holmes.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
You can't dictate to your audience.

[identity profile] are-too-holmes.livejournal.com 2010-02-14 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
It's not really a secret, is it? I know what you did, just not when you did it.

[Putting the skim milk back in the shelf, incidentally, and pulling out a box of muesli.]

You placed the card in my pocked while my attention was on -- no, you didn't. You had the card in your hand the entire time and just pretended to find it there.

Misdirection at it's finest.

[puts the muesli back, jumps down off the bench.] Answered my own question! Can I go now?
