Well, here's a nice room. It's an off shoot to the dining room (usually.) It looks like a bar and a well stocked one. There's also a sign by the doorway. (Alcohol for those over twenty only. There is a wide selection for those under as well.)

And there is someone tending the bar right now. A Shinichi whose older than most of the others. He's currently cleaning the bottles, making sure nothing is dusty.

"I am?" It was unexpected, but Kid was not surprised. Most Kudo's from other worlds seemed to know their own Kuroba's. He didn't know this one, but that didn't mean this man didn't know some form of him. "You know another one of me?"

Walking into the quiet establishment, Kid glanced around overtly. The dim lighting here was relaxing, and he had less fear of people finding out his pale complexion. Still, he gave his top hat a little tug downwards before taking a seat at the bar counter.

"Hmmm, yes," Shinichi said, studying him as he approached, thinking. "Certainly a different style of dress...but might be another version of Moonlight-san."

"Moonlight-san?" Kid's cocked his head to one side, interested by his alternate self's choice of naming. "That does sound like me. If you're a bartender, then what does Moonlight do?"

His eyes roamed over the bottles that lined the wall behind Kudo. It was a well stocked collection, too bad he was underage. Can vampires even drink?

"A stage magician. Though sometimes I wonder if he has a job Blue Eye-san doesn't know about," Shinichi said thoughfully. "He sometimes talks about how hard his job is, but he's always so enthused with magic, especially when she's around."

He caught the look, leaning forward to get a better look at Kid. "...you're under twenty. 17, 18? Too young to drink, at any rate, so don't think about it," he said and pulled up a menu. "But there are fruit cocktails and other drinks that are fine for you to order."

Kid openly grinned at Moonlight's tale though. "It is hard being a magician," he agreed, but backed away self consciously when the bartender leaned in.

"Wasn't even thinking about it." For once, he stated the truth. "Not sure if anything here is suitable for me to begin with." The last bit he muttered under his breath.

"There is hard work that is tiring, and there is hard work that is draining," Shinichi said, leaning back. "He gets 'tired' with magic, but never drained. Only when he's vague is he like that. Which is why I think he has a second one."

"Good. I've had minors ask before. It's better to head it off," he said with a shrug. "What was that?" He asked, not catching the last bit.

Kid was impressed with how astute the bartender was. But he suppose he shouldn't be too surprised, this was still a Kudo-kun he was talking to. "Whether he does or doesn't, I'm sure he's still a good customer."

He kicked idly at his bar stool, beating out a soft clacking pattern with the heel of his dress shoes. "I said I wanted something to drink but couldn't decide on what."

Shinichi rolled his eyes. "Depends. Half the time, he comes in and is ordering the perverted drinks to rile up Blue Eye-san and the other half, he's kind of quite and rather foreboding," he said. Though his tone betrayed more than his words. Despite himself, he did like Moonlight-san.

"I could make a recommendation?"

Kid had to smile at that. It was something he would do to Aoko at home too, and it was sweet to hear it happened elsewhere too. Even if their world sounds less colorful than his own.

"If you would. What would you recommend, batendaa-san?"

"Hmmm, for something similar...the Brown Pelican should do," Shinichi said, pointing to it on the menu. "Ginger Beer isn't always alcoholic. Misleading name, I know."

"Like root beer," Kid quipped back, understanding the quirks of misleading names.

He did look curiously at the bartender for the suggestion though. "What was Moonlight's favorite drink?"

"Yeah, but not as popular, so people don't always know," Shinichi said.

Shinichi quirked an eyebrow and chuckled. "Where do you think the nickname came from," he said, moving to make the drink. "All the regulars are named for the drink they favor. Since it was the one drink he ever ordered somewhat consistently and wasn't a perverted name, that's the one he got. It's made with apple brancy, lemon, and powdered sugar."

"Ah." Understanding dawned with the similar drink. "A Brown Pelican is fine, batendaa-san." He smiled at the bartender, his hat tipped up slightly to show a bit more of his pale features. "But please don't take offense if I don't finish you drink."

"I might have if you didn't give the warning," Shinichi said. "Or more I'd worry about my skills if I couldn't make a drink you enjoy. But if you're expecting it...any particular reason why you wouldn't?"

Kid seemed to consider the man before him, but whatever solution he came to, the thief just shook his head.

"Very little things suit my tastes lately."

Shinichi studied him for a few moments. "You know, when you get vague, it just screams you're hiding something. Especially since it's only then and magic tricks you ever really get vague."

"Yet you never asked him about it," Kid guessed. "You know there are some secrets that shouldn't be ask."

Shinichi shrugged. "It's not a bartender's place to pry too much. I pointed out the same thing to him, but I only say it so he knows he can tell me. I'm willing to listen anytime and sometimes people just need to know someone would."

Kid smiled a little and propped his chin on his hand as he leaned on the bar top. He liked this bartender, although he couldn't say if it was the man's soothing aura or his conceived naivite. "People don't usually spill secrets to strangers, batendaa-san."

"No, but a bartender is different from a stranger," Shinichi said. "They are someone you trust, despite not knowing them. Someone who won't judge because in the end, everyone is equal at this counter. They give the customer what they need and they must always make sure to never disappoint."

Kid's eyebrows raised to the points. This mister bartender took his job very seriously, or so it sounded. Despite his intentions, he was drawn to ask curiously, "Even non-humans?"

"If a non-human can sit at the counter and is capable of ordering a drink, then they're just like everyone else," Shinichi said.

"You don't care for much outside of this bar," Kid observed thoughtfully. He idly tapped the bar counter in front of him.

Shinichi paused and chuckled. "I care a lot for what's outside of the bar, but trying to make a dent in it is difficult. So I like to focus here. I can't make a dent out there, but here," he said, resting his hands on the counter, "I can at least do a little something for everyone who comes in."

Kid suppose he could appreciate dedication like that. "You're a funny guy," he mused finally, not quite sure what to make of this bartender Kudo-kun, or -san, since this one seemed older. "What made you become a bartender?"
