Kid's condition deteriorated during the short while it took Kudou to fetch him his drink. His skin had grown clammy and pale, and his skin was much cooler to the touch. When Kudou returned, he was exactly where the samurai left him previously, sprawled on the couch with his eyes closed.

At the faintest sound of the approaching footsteps, those eyes sprang open to reveal dark orbs tinged with a hint of madness. And perhaps it was the lighting, but those previously blue eyes looked slightly purple... or was that a tiny bit red?

"No?" When Kid moved his mouth, the pinpoints of fully grown fangs dimpled the edge of his lower lips. "You're back." Unlike his joking reply, these words came out as a throaty growl.
