"Okay, this is where that one Conan said he vanished too," Kazuha said, standing at the end of the hall on the first floor. "And I can feel it....I think he's near the stair well," she said, looking at the others.

"Here's the plan. Conan-kun will go down first. He'll get the ghosts attention, and basically agree with anything he says and try to make him happy and distracted. From there, two of us will go to the stair well and put up the ofuda there around the hall to keep him there, while another two do it from this side of the hall," Kazuha explained and looked at the kitsune Kaito.

"I want you to watch Conan-kun. Don't go into the ghost's area, but just watch. If it looks like things are going to go bad, I want you to rush in and get Conan-kun out of there, but only if things are starting to go bad."

"Finally, Heiji, I want you to take off the omamori away from the ghost. I will too. Kudo-kun says the omamori has acted as a warning to him before and I don't want the ghost noticing us until it's too late."

She paused, looking between everyone. "...well, any questions?"

Kaito shook his head. "Nope. No questions here." He was still a bit worried, but he figured this plan should work so long as everyone played their parts and were careful about it. He'd just have to make sure the ghost didn't notice him.

Hattori had a question. "By omamori you mean the omamori you said I had to wear all the time and was not allowed to take off, ever, for any reason whatsoever?"

"Because you were never supposed to go after ghosts, ahou," Kazuha said. "It keeps them away and warns them you're coming apparently. And we don't want him to realize you're there."

"Just checking." Hattori took the omamori off, looking around for someplace safe to leave it before setting it down on a low table. Of all the times for Kazuha to tell him to take it off ... girls.

Hakuba shook his head, reaching around his neck wordlessly to take off the charm that he'd been given all those months ago. The notice-me-not was safely folded up in a jacket pocket, ambient noise in the presence of all the other omamori, and not by its nature something that would easily get him, well, noticed.
