[There are loud crashing noises coming from one of the rooms, followed by the sound of shattering glass and a few more ominous thumps. It goes silent again for a few moments, before the door is flung open and someone flies out of the room, skidding across the wooden floors of the hallway and colliding painfully with the opposite wall.
It's another Kaito, though clearly not one of the more normal ones. He's dressed in a dull green jumpsuit indicative of prison garb, and a light-gray, metal collar with a bar-code adorning the front is looped around his neck. His appearance isn't helped by the dark red blood stains that spatter his clothing and smear across his cheek. Nor does is it helped by the light trail of blood that now streaks across the floor where he slid, and the droplets that now line the wall where he landed.
He's breathing heavily as he lifts a hand to wipe his mouth, and he freezes mid-motion. His gaze darts frantically around the hallway, and despite his seemingly serious injuries, he's on his feet within seconds, taking a defensive stance and glancing frantically at his surroundings]
The hell--

The hell--

Somewhat.]
...Kaito-niichan?
[better to default to honorifics; he's found it's easier to differentiate if his Kaito is the only one he refers to as just 'Kaito' here]
no subject
The small boy staring at him with a gun pointed in his direction.
Kaito's gaze narrows, and his expression slips from surprise into a cold, blank determination. He takes a few steps back, mind racing. Who's this kid? Why's he know my name? He doesn't have a uniform-- Undertaker? No... they're gone...
He speaks, voice emotionless yet slightly hoarse from yelling]
Who're you?
no subject
Edogawa Conan.
[He slowly lowers his gun, but doesn't replace the safety just yet]
What happened to you?
no subject
His hands are curled into tight fists at his side as he stares down this strange boy, and his demeanor is oddly calm for someone who is so disoriented thanks to his sudden environment change.
Conan might notice that he's shaking a bit too, though it's definitely not from anger. His question, on the other hand, goes in one ear and out the other]
What do you want? [It's a valid question in his eyes, particularly if this child is working directly under the director. He's not in prison garb, nor does he have a collar, he's armed and he's unfamiliar. It's the first conclusion Kaito draws]
no subject
[His words are even, firm, and honest. It wouldn't be the first time they came across a terrified and wounded stranger -- though most of them didn't make it in the end, and they've seen fewer and fewer lone survivors as the plague wears on.
But before he can help, he needs to get Kaito to calm down and trust him, and to do that he needs to orient him]
You aren't wherever you just were before. You can open the door you just came through and check, if you want. You've been transported.
no subject
I'm not-- [the answer makes little to no sense to Kaito. I've been transported? The hell does that mean? Does that mean I'm not--
Does that mean I'm not at the prison anymore?
This news is most certainly not good news, and he allows his gaze to dart quickly back to the door he had flown through]
Aoko--! [His panic has returned, and he stumbled frantically toward the door and flings it open. The boy is right-- he doesn't see the white-washed corridors of the prison stretched out in front of him. He sees nothing but a lonely, empty bedroom.
His hand tightens around the doorknob]
I have to get back. [his words are stern] I have to get back now.
no subject
[He says it with careful neutrality; neither he or anyone else from his world particularly wants to go back, regardless of time or place, but that's only because almost all of them are here. The frantic worry for Aoko is something he's very familiar with, in any case, and Conan solemnly throws on his safety and holsters his gun, venturing a bit closer]
Come on, Kaito-niichan. You need some bandages.
no subject
What do you mean we can't?! Aoko's been taken by that royal rat bastard and his stupid-- [he cuts himself off as he stumbles, losing his balance and catching it again on the far wall]
Damn it... [he can't believe he was so careless for fighting until he was in this condition.]
no subject
[He doesn't know why it's Kaito's last name that he uses to get his attention, doesn't know why it causes a sharp stabbing pain to shoot through his head, but he shakes it off and hurries closer to try and support the much taller boy. He needs to get Kaito to an infirmary; he can't treat him here]
I promise, Aoko-neechan will be okay for a little while longer. And if you pass out, you won't be able to help her!
[Not that Kaito's really been prone to listening to common sense before, but hopefully the threat of total inability to act will get him to stop fixating on his partial inability to act]

Kaito!
[He's forgotten all about pretenses - these things do happen when you've just woken up from a nightmare, and you're woken up to the nightmare possibly being real.
It's only then that he sees the Kaito properly, gets his wits together long enough to realise it's not his Kaito, but even then he's sticking around, apalled by the state the other boy is in. Seeing the defensive stance, he goes closer carefully.]
Kaito? It's all right. Wherever you were, it's all right now. Okay?
[He can still smell the blood, only stronger, now. He really needs to get the boy to the infirmary.]
no subject
-- no, everything is not alright now, because five minutes ago he was in the middle of a rescue mission, and now he's... here.
As Conan steps forward, Kaito stumbles back, not dropping his tense and defensive stance at all]
Let me guess. They sent you to try and stop us, right?
no subject
No. Whatever you were doing, no. You're not there anymore, but- I'm sorry. I don't know when you're going to be able to go back. All I know is what everyone else has told me. That you go back the moment you left. I know this is hard, but please... trust me?
no subject
He had lost far too much blood to think about things rationally]
I don't need help from you! I need to get back to where I came from!
no subject
Kuroba! [With one sharp movement he had a hold of the other boy's wrist, and was dragging him towards the nearest door.] Right now, you have no control over that, same as the rest of us! And aside from that, you're in no condition to do anything! Now you can either start helping yourself and work with me to get you better, or I can knock you out and we can treat that as well as everything else!
[The fact that he's still terrified from his nightmare may have something to do with his actions. Oh, and he's perfectly able to drag a human teenager - even as a chibi, vampire strength is enhanced that far, at least, and Kaito is still only human. Shinichi's eyes may be flashing, his teeth elongating slightly as his instinct to protect the Kaito took over.]
no subject
He pulls against Conan's grip as hard as he can, though it might not be enough to break it]
The heck is your problem?!
no subject
My problem is that you were being unreasonable, and I'm actually trying to help, you idiot! [He illustrates his point by opening the door he'd been leading them to with his free hand, so that Kaito could see that it lead into the Infirmary. Shinichi breathed, trying to calm himself down as well.] You've been losing blood. We need to get that bleeding stopped as soon as possible, and it'd be best if you'd co-operate with me.
[There were other things as well, but this would be a beginning. A very good start. The smell of the blood was starting to get to him.]

[Ran's been down to the kitchen to fetch food; she has her takings gathered into a furoshiki. She has her swords tucked casually into the obi of her kimono, but is standing respectfully still, waiting for acknowledgement before she approaches.]
You are hurt.
no subject
Ran-- [He stumbles a bit, reaching out to steady himself on the wall. She looks far different than she did the last time he saw her-- healthier, well-dressed, uninjured...
Part of him recognizes this as strange. But he's far too relieved at seeing a friend to take much more note of it]
I'm fine. [his vision is blurring and he feels a bit light headed. He must have used up too much blood] Ran-san, where are we?
no subject
You do not look find. That wound should be stopped.
This is the mansion. It is a difficult place to explain.
no subject
I'm fine. [he sounded more insistent the second time than he did the first] I've had worse.
[His vision blurs again briefly as he forces himself to stand up straight, hand still on the wall]
Mansion... is this part of the prison? How far is it from where they're keeping Aoko? [because right now, Aoko was the most important thing] We have to get back there.
no subject
It is not. It is a place outside of time. I cannot explain it but I am assured that when it is our time we will return. Until then we must bear this as best we can.
[Ran pauses to consider. Where did she last see Aoko?]
I do not know where Aoko-san is now. But I will take you to where I last saw her.
no subject
Outside of-- [there was no way he could process anything outside of his concern for Aoko in this state. Despite his best attempts to stay upright, he was quickly fading]
You saw her? Ran-san, we've gotta-- [he winced, and lifted his free hand to his forehead as his vision started swimming before him] ... shit.
no subject
We will find Aoko; do not worry about that. But first we must see to you wound.
no subject
I'm fine! Aoko's the one who-- [he cuts himself off as a sudden wave of dizziness overtakes him] -- ow.
