[Event] Whatever you do, don't high-five

Your hands look normal, feel normal, and even smell normal. There's nothing out of the ordinary... Except when you touch something (or someone) else~

You'll start leaving handprints, fingerprints, streaks of colour along the walls, furniture, and along other people's skin. There's a different colour for every different person, and who knows what happens when you high-five?

Be imaginative!

[Here is a colour generator~ Simply click 'Random Background' for your pup's colour, and then fill in this handy-dandy html so other people know what colour you've got!]

Filled code example:
Kaitou_1412 leaves fingerprints of this <b><font color="#D76498">color</font></b>.

Also, our apologies for the lateness of this event! There has been extreme RL busy-ness to contend with.

Conan smirked, still working on the picture. Hey, finger painting wasn't exactly a practice he was good at.

"You're good enough, Kaito. In fact, I've met a girl who doesn't know about you and Kid who swears up and down you're better than Kid. If only barely," Conan said.

"Though, I admit, my definite proof would make me sound insane. Seeing as another world was involved, but I think the fact I've been an assistant on..." Pauses for a moment. "Five of your heists, I think that's pretty definitive."

Okay, he revealed that part mostly because it was likely to get an interesting reaction from Kaito.

"Not that I did anything illegal myself, of course." That hadn't been part of the bets he lost.

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-27 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
And we've been aidin' an' abettin' on -how- many?

Fourteen. Not counting the minor escapades to return gems, in which case, it brings it up to twenty-six.

Twenty-six? Man, the police really do suck when we're not there to stop Kid.

Kaito grinned widely, sharply, Kid's grin every inch of the way.

"Ara~ Tantei-kun. Such a bad child. What would your neechan say if she knew?"

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-27 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"She'd demand to know why I didn't tell her about the other three," Conan said in a matter of fact tone. Odd though, that was all the reaction he got. He expected a bit more pause than that that would indicate Kid HAD been somewhat surprised.

Even if it didn't show on his face.

"Of course, I couldn't, because Heiji made me swear never, ever to talk about it outside of him and Kid. It took a few times before we figured out how you were cheating at cards," Conan said casually. Of course, he figured Kaito might have figured out there was something more personal in the relationship between them by this point then just detective and thief with detective getting conned into helping with heists.

Though he never even thought about how people might take to him referring to Hattori in such a close fashion.

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Me? A card cheat?"

That's a lie, an' ya know it.

Kaito looked mock-wounded for a moment, but then straightened up a little, his expression more serious.

"So, then, tantei-kun. How well do you know me? Well enough to have shared childhood stories? Or are we still rivals in spirit, if not in practice?"

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"That was the bet. We had to figure out how you were cheating. We always knew you were," Conan said. It was more fun that way.

"You're...well, as much as the fact might make us both shudder, you're my second closest friend," Conan said, pulling away and seeing if he did the little picture any justice.

Not really, but it was vaguely recognizable. "I know you very well. Not that we stopped being rivals. It's just even if I might finally get close enough to cuff you, I won't hand you over to the police. Though that's more of the combination of the fact I need you and doing so is like signing your death warrant."

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not bad, said Kaito quietly, looking over the little drawing. He laid a hand flat on the wall, seemingly fascinated by the bleed of colour from his palm as he spoke.

"You're like my Shinichi, then. He'd do anything to catch me, but I have this feeling that he'd 'loose' the handcuff keys if he ever actually did." A quick glance at Conan, a brief flicker of an amused smile.

His head was quiet, an almost stunned silence from blue, the green and gold shimmering with a softer version of the same.

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not sure if orange fits for it," Conan commented. Then again, he wasn't sure why his hand is suddenly a paint brush, but it could be worse.

"You think so?" Conan asked, looking at Kaito curiously. "So was it he noticed the snipers are there too often, figured out whose after Pandora, or something else?"

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Something else," said Kaito, grinning slightly. He wasn't about to spill the beans, but this Conan was a whole lot more reassuring than the other one - the anger bubbling beneath the surface hadn't helped that Conan's case one bit.

"We've had a few heart-to-hearts since then." A bullet grazing Hakuba's forehead, too close, far too close, dreams of Kid stumbling through bloody hallways, always too late, far too late... and the three of them there to drag him back out to reality again, out-logicking his dreams with relentless pursuit of reality.

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Really?" Conan said, looking thoughtful. "When I first found out, I would have turned him in. Except there was no point in getting him arrested in the Digital World." And it was nice to have SOMEONE he didn't have to play pretend around. "Does he know who you are?"

Heart to hearts? "How did you two find time to talk beyond banter?"

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, for one, tantei-kun couldn't really turn me in without my say-so. For another, he really couldn't turn me in wihtout my say-so."

Kaito smiled, shrugged, and in a light tone, added,

"Enforced company can do wonders for your rivalries."

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That was...a really weird way to put it. Conan frowned thoughtfully. "So...something about the 'enforced company' lets you have power over what your Shinichi said. And whatever this is applies to Hakuba, and possibly Nakamori-keibu and Heiji." Rivalries did say it was with more than one person and Hakuba had definitely been the main rival. The other two were the only other ones he could think of as possible candidates.

"And the way you said it...it sounds like it's more than just simple blackmail. Not just a 'you tell my secret, I tell yours,' especially since that wouldn't apply to anyone aside from me and maybe Heiji if only because he wants to keep my secret." Even with blackmail, he could still tell.

With the way it was said though, it sounded like he was incapable. "Did Koizumi cast a curse on you guys?" Well, it was a possibility.

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Kaito laughed. Tantei-kun was entertaining to watch while he was deducting - and a little nostalgic. The last time he'd seen those eyes so sharp, it was moments before blinding light and a piece of machinery had wiped them blank.

"So you know about Miss Witch?" he asked, grinning slightly, then waving a hand airily. "We had a little trouble with her and her penchant for nightlights, but she didn't curse us."

Yer not makin' this easy fer him, are ya?

Of course not~!

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-28 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Technically, I'm still in the middle of rescuing her from a third sect of the Organization, but that has to wait until I finally go home again," Conan murmured, still more focused on figuring out what Kaito meant. After all, if he freaked out everytime he thought about the kidnapping, he'd never get any peace.

Especially since it's been months that he's been away from home in other places while time stood still back there. Or so he hoped.

"Never had a problem with her and nightlights though...she'd usually threaten to turn us into something small and fuzzy."

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-29 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
"...third sect, tantei-kun?" Now that was slightly worrying. If you counted tantei-kun's alcohols, and his own various dangerous beasties, that didn't make up a third. And he could only imagine what the'd do.

Scientists, perhaps, came Conan's voice. Haibara's parents had codenames that weren't alcohols.

Bu' sicentists ain't exactly dangerous...

No, you think, came the sour tones of a teenager who'd had to pose as someone ten years younger.

...Ahaha... yeah... Sorry, Kudo.

"My detectives required a rescue," Kaito said idly, still dropping hints here and there, wondering if Conan would be able to figure it out soon. "Miss Witch is not the most hospitable of hostesses."

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-29 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
Conan nodded. "One that I was personally familiar with that went for the science method. Two is the one you know, that went for magic items. A third who went for people of magic power. Akako eventually became a target and that's when I had to accept our world does not, in fact, run on logic and actual physics alone," Conan said, turning to face Kaito. "She came to you because you were able to give her protection she couldn't make herself without risking a back lash. By then, we were already working together."

"Required a rescue," Conan muttered. "So...definitely magic..." But what magic had to do with night lights? "What can glow from people...something to do with their auras? Souls?"

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-29 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Aha. Well, I have known for a while that logic doesn't rule supreme. A run-in with a certain jewel-thief would have taught me that, even if my detectives hadn't been caught the way they are~" Hiei wasn't someone he particularly wanted to meet agian, but Yukina-chan and Kuwabara were people he might end up spending another visit with.

"Very good~" chirped Kaito, ruffling Conan's hair again. "Can you figure out the rest?"

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-29 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Certain Jewel-Thief? What thief makes you think things are weird?" Conan asked. He was...actually quite curious what that meant.

He scowled at that, shoving away his hand, but didn't straighten his hair. He didn't want to add orange to his hair too.

He thought about that. "...you wouldn't control someone's will or let someone else controls someone else's will that completely. So it can't be a planned thing, if you do have that much control," Conan said, studying Kaito. "Even to protect your identity, it's not the type of person you are..." He murmured, then focusing on the eyepatch. Then looking at the drawings. It didn't seem having one eye blocked affected his eyesight enough for the pictures. Not to mention the eyepatch looked thin, too thin to block out all light. Would it ever serve as a bandage that way?

"Why do you have that eyepatch...?"

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-29 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Let's just say that... meeting him led to meeting someone in true possession of teargems, and leave it at that, hm?" Kaito wasn't being mysterious to be contrary for once - it was Yukina-chan's decision whether to speak about her secret or not.

Kaito's grin was growing bigger as Conan continued speaking, bouncing slightly on his toes.

You are enjoying yourself far too much.

Come on, Hakuba, this is fun!

"Why do I have my eyepatch indeed?" Kaito grinned, tugging it off and putting it in his pocket, one eye closed. His smile turned slightly ominous, voice slipping easily into Kid's smoother tones. He wasn't ~precisely~ trying to scare Conan away, but it was fun wathcing tantei-kun twitch.

"Are you sure you want to know?"

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-29 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Teagrems...? But that tone, that he was pretty sure he knew. "Right. Getting you to explain would be harder than pulling teeth, right?"

Conan is studying him quite seriously. "...eyes are windows to the soul, or at least so they say. So...whatever accident happened with your rivals...auras. Souls. Whatever it was exactly that was affected. It did something to your eye, right? It's why you have to cover it?" Conan paused and smirked. "I want to know. I don't think there's anything behind your eye that will terrify me."

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-30 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Yep," said Kaito blithely. "You know me so well~" he added in a chirping tone.

Kaito laughed a little, crouching down in front of Conan so he was on eye-level, and opened his eye. He knew the detective would be seeing formless black instead of normal white, colours flickering into life on the iris as his detectives made teir opinions known.

Green, Heiji making his opinion known.

Ya sure this is smart, Kuroba?

Blue, Shinichi adding in his two cents.

If he didn't, I don't think he'd be doing it.

Gold, a snarking jibe at Green.

Of course not, Hattori. Do have some sense.

Kaito raised an eyebrow queryingly at Conan. "So, what's your theory, tantei-kun?"

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-30 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Too well. I think it's starting to make Heiji worry," Conan commented dryly.

Though it wasn't quite all untrue, but he hadn't gotten around to telling Heiji the full story yet. Mostly because it was totally insane.

He watched Kaito's eye as he opened it, his own widening in surprise. He hadn't really known what to expect, but that sort of thing...hadn't been it. But what...?

Conan got a look of concentration, one that says he was trying to put all the pieces together. "That..." Then a hand was in his pocket, pulling out what looked like a card. Not a playing card though, it was too tall. He muttered a word under his breathe, the card vanishing in a flash.

And some ornate clip ons appearing on his glasses. He stumbled back, the surprise back on his face. "Whoa! That's...that's way more colors then there should be..." He said before taking off the glasses. "That's more than one person should even HAVE at one time. They can't...are they actually INSIDE you?"

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-01-30 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well done," murmured Kaito, his heart beating jackhammer fast inside his chest. Tantei-kun's sudden movements had worried him, the reappearing-disappearing trick making his supressed 'flee' instinct flare up. Not that he was letting that show, of course.

Tell him I damn well would be worried if he was bein' pally with Kid an' this ain't had happened.

"Hattori-kun expresses his agreement with yours," he added, Poker Face coming down as he waited for the adrenaline rush to fade. "I'd suggest explaining the situation to him." He smiled. "Tantei-han does better with a full set of cards in his hand~"

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-01-30 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"I was kind of hoping I was wrong. I feel sorry for your rivals, being stuck in your head," he said. It was a joke. Sort of.

"The problem isn't I don't want to tell him. It's telling him without sounding insane," Conan said, muttering another word under his breathe, the clip ons vanishing and card reappearing in his hand as he slipped on the glasses.

"This card and scars are the only proof I can provide him about my little 'adventure' in another world," Conan said, pocketing the card. "And explaining it to Heiji is a whole other problem than explaining it to Kaito. I mean...well, you're already insane on so many levels. And I found out your life story there. Things happening that shouldn't have gone unnoticed, having a magic item, knowing things about you I shouldn't know without you having a clue about it. Hard to refute that. Heiji isn't that simple. Especially when he even wants to deny the existence of his own magic. He'll probably think I've finally lost it after everything." He paused, glancing at the black eye.

"...not that it isn't justified. But that's more of me not knowing the full story at the time too."

[identity profile] 1stpersonplural.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"He might just surprise you," suggested Kaito. "Though I can't speak for him... well. Much. " A brief grin.

Tell him that bein' left outta the loop is worse than thinkin' he's insane. I'm his friend, dammit!

....Why don't you tell him yourself?

"One second, tantei-kun~" chirped Kaito, holding up a finger and closing his eyes. He focused on the green feel of Hattori's soul in his mind, reaching out slowly.

...What're you tryin' ta...

Kaito-kun, are you sure this is wise?

Shush, I know what I'm doing.

...Don't you remember what happened the -last- time we tried this? came the sour remark from Shinichi.

It won't happen this time., thought Kaito, and-- let go.

"This's so ....weird..." said Heiji, staring down at Kuroba's pale arms, the magician's voice thick with his Osakan accent and, though he couldn't see it, Kuroba's right eye solidly green.

Oh well, time to get down to business. He looked up at Conan, then reached out and thwacked him around the back of the head.

"Ahou."

[identity profile] only-1-truth.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Conan quirked an eyebrow at the one second, watching Kaito to see what h would do. And when he spoke again...

Well, okay, it wasn't that weird. Kaito's mimicked Hattori before, so hearing his voice from Kaito's face wasn't TOO weird.

And there was the smack. Conan jerked forward, putting a hand over the place of impact. "Ow!" He yelped before glaring at Heiji.

"Oi, I had good reason!" Conan snapped. "If I hadn't lived it, I wouldn't have believed me and you thinking I was nuts was the last thing I needed!" He snapped.

Though...despite the harsh tone and glare, he seemed...kind of happy to hear Heiji. He had missed his friend and the only Heiji here was the girl one, which was kind of weird.

...though who was to say if this was better or worse.
