[Event] Whatever you do, don't high-five

Your hands look normal, feel normal, and even smell normal. There's nothing out of the ordinary... Except when you touch something (or someone) else~

You'll start leaving handprints, fingerprints, streaks of colour along the walls, furniture, and along other people's skin. There's a different colour for every different person, and who knows what happens when you high-five?

Shinichi had to blink at that. "I'm a ghost," he explained as thought it were obvious. "All I am are thoughts and memories. No one can mess with that."

"This place brought us here in the first place," Ran pointed out, what he thought logically.

Ran was using logic. Shinichi hated that.

"Didn't change me when it brought me here, did it?" he said loftily.

"It didn't change any of us," his friend retorted.

"There is that," Shinichi concedes. "But I'm not ruling it out until it happens."

"It better not," Ran grumbled, scuffing a kick at the wall. "Why would it bring us here in the first place if we're only going to forget about it, anyway?"

"That," Shinichi said thoughtfully. "Is a very good question."

His friend tried to think about that for a moment. "...You said that Conan doesn't go straight home, right?" Ran asked. "Does that mean he goes to a different world instead? Maybe it's what's doing it."

"It could be," Shinichi said thoughtfully, finishing in disgust. "There's just too many variables!"

"What about the other two?" Ran queried further, not willing to drop the subject just yet. "Do they go to other worlds?"

"No," Shinichi concedes. "But Ran was exposed to the reality of other worlds before coming here."

"Really?" That was interesting. "What about Kuroba-san?"

"He may have been being vague on purpose."

"Why am I not surprised?" Especially if the magician really was the Kid. "So... there's a chance that all the people who've gone home knew about other worlds already before they came here?"

That sounded significant, but Ran couldn't put his finger on how.

Shinichi paused. "Could be," he said. "We'd have to talk to Kaito again, but--" It was a definite possibility.

"...That better not mean we're stuck here just because we didn't know about other worlds," Ran muttered, as he realized the possible downside to this revelation.

"I know about other worlds," Shinichi said immediately. "Well. Realms. I'm not sure what you'd call them -- but they're definitely other."

"Dying's still pretty normal." Ran paused. "...Depressing, but normal."

"Sticking around afterwards isn't?" Shinichi sighed. "You might be right."

"We're just going to have to wait and see if anyone else goes home, aren't we?" his friend grumbled, not at all thrilled about the idea. "This place is either really convenient or really not."

"Not unless this mansion decides to add 'someone who has been back and remembers' to the dining hall menu -- and that would be a whole different kind of worrying," Shinichi grumbled. "Which reminds me, I need to go back to see if they've started serving handkerchiefs."

That non-sequitur earned Shinichi a double take (much more visible this time). "Handkerchiefs?"

"I really need some extras," Shinichi explained blithely, doodling a neat little RIP on the wall. "One, I seem to depress people. Two -- well, Nakamori-san's going to need a lot if that meeting was anything to go by."

A tongue-in-cheek comment of 'I wonder why' died on Ran's tongue. "Nakamori-san?"

"She's new -- and dead too! Though she's really not happy about it." Shinichi frowned. "If you meet her, try not to ask if she's upset. I'm pretty sure she can't help it."
