[Event] Whatever you do, don't high-five

Your hands look normal, feel normal, and even smell normal. There's nothing out of the ordinary... Except when you touch something (or someone) else~

You'll start leaving handprints, fingerprints, streaks of colour along the walls, furniture, and along other people's skin. There's a different colour for every different person, and who knows what happens when you high-five?

That... could be bad. He was going to have to be careful, so very careful around this one. It hadn't taken him too long to realize that the majority of the other versions of Kudo Shinichi (shrunken or not) were really just detectives. That he was very different.

"Yep!" Yes, Kaito decided, he was going to continue to be painfully cheerful about this. He tugged the eyepatch back in place, tilting his head a little as he looked at Conan.

He's still taking it in, Kuroba, came the sour comment from Shinichi.

"We're working on it," said Kaito to Conan. "We'll find something soon," he added with a cheerful smile.

"What?!" Hadn't Kuroba said that Nakamori-san was his best friend? He wasn't going to like that at all, Ran was sure. "What happened to her?!"

Conan was just exploring more of the mansion...hotel...place when he had that familiar nagging feeling at the back of his mind. Once upon a time, it was a feeling he didn't think much of until a case popped up.

Now he knew what it meant. "Shinic-wait..." Conan shook his head. No, it wasn't that Shinichi. It wasn't someone alive, but it was someone new. And he couldn't NOT check out who it was. His curiosity wouldn't let him.

So he headed towards where he felt that presence and froze as he saw the sight. He knew who she was.

And it made him feel kind of sick to see her as the source. "Aoko-neechann..."

"Hunh?" Kaito turned, smiling as he saw Conan, lifting his hand from the roses made up of handprints.

Hah, this is more like it.

"Edogawa-kun, isn't it? The kid who chases Kid all the time?"

"Ah, I guess we haven't met in your world," Conan said, turning to look at the 'artwork.' "Though I wouldn't say I chase y-I mean, him, all the time. Hakuba does it more," he said, watching Kaito from the corner of his eye. Mostly to see his reaction at the 'slip' he made.

He knew rules and roles didn't always stay the same in every world, so he had to test the waters.

"So you do want more proof~ Tantei-kun, you should ask nicely in future." Kaito's tone was gently chiding, his broad smile at odds with it. He continued, showing up the detective a little with Conan's information.

"In answer to your question, Shiho-chan doesn't know."

Shinichi sounded far too smug, so Kaito turned his hair pink again. Revenge was so easy in your mind.

"You're just as bad as Hakuba, too," he said cheerfully. "I guess you think I'm Kid, too?"

"Kuroba Kaito is smart enough to catch the slip and not blow it off," Conan said, using a finger to draw one Kid's infamous signatures. "I wanted to see your reaction, since there had to be one. Considering Hakuba suspects you, and I know WHY he suspects you in my world, I think I got what I wanted. I wanted to see if your role was still the same in your world as mine."

Kaito was going to deal with this by being obnoxiously cheerful.

"Wow, you're smart for a little kid! I bet your parents must be proud!" He ruffled Conan's hair cheerfully, getting pink streaks over it. "But bad luck~ It's been proven that I'm not Kid - my best friend even handcuffed me to her during a heist!"

Aoko-kun did? However did you get out of that one?

Conan scowled. He could already feel the paint. "I have definite proof." And there was nothing in his tone or expression that said he was lying. "And we both know you could find a way to be in two places at once."

And he wasn't. He HAD proof. It was how Kaito and he started to work together. Conan found proof that he was Kid, and Kaito couldn't refute it. Of course, it was proof that only applied in the Digital World. It wasn't like he could tell a court that Kaito was Kid because of a device a digital tree god gave them had symbols that meant something to the owner and his was a Kid sign.

Not that he wanted to turn Kid in anymore, all things considered.

But where was the fun in telling that right away?

Kaito leaned over slightly, hands in pockets, not really caring about the pink streaks over his jeans, a grin on his face.

Conan smirked, still working on the picture. Hey, finger painting wasn't exactly a practice he was good at.

"You're good enough, Kaito. In fact, I've met a girl who doesn't know about you and Kid who swears up and down you're better than Kid. If only barely," Conan said.

"Though, I admit, my definite proof would make me sound insane. Seeing as another world was involved, but I think the fact I've been an assistant on..." Pauses for a moment. "Five of your heists, I think that's pretty definitive."

Okay, he revealed that part mostly because it was likely to get an interesting reaction from Kaito.

"Not that I did anything illegal myself, of course." That hadn't been part of the bets he lost.

Fourteen. Not counting the minor escapades to return gems, in which case, it brings it up to twenty-six.

Twenty-six? Man, the police really do suck when we're not there to stop Kid.

Kaito grinned widely, sharply, Kid's grin every inch of the way.

"Ara~ Tantei-kun. Such a bad child. What would your neechan say if she knew?"

This Kaito was had been particularly bored until he leaned a hand against a wall and left a smeared red hand print. He noticed immediately it that wasn't the right color for blood. It looked like paint, but when he looked at his hand, there wasn't anything on it.

He touched the wall again, and left more red. "Huh. It had to be red didn't it?"

Oh well. This could be fun!

He was in fact working on a super deformed caricature of Hakuba, complete with the stupid deerstalker cap and inverness cape that he used to wear all the time, when he finally noticed another him near by.

He blinked. What was with the eye patch?

"She'd demand to know why I didn't tell her about the other three," Conan said in a matter of fact tone. Odd though, that was all the reaction he got. He expected a bit more pause than that that would indicate Kid HAD been somewhat surprised.

Even if it didn't show on his face.

"Of course, I couldn't, because Heiji made me swear never, ever to talk about it outside of him and Kid. It took a few times before we figured out how you were cheating at cards," Conan said casually. Of course, he figured Kaito might have figured out there was something more personal in the relationship between them by this point then just detective and thief with detective getting conned into helping with heists.

Though he never even thought about how people might take to him referring to Hattori in such a close fashion.
