(no subject)
[If you're of a mind to be around a particular area - about where a certain deceased detective was a while ago, in fact - you might just notice a white-clad thief leaning against a wall]
[It's not a casual slump, nor an elegant one - it's the slump of the exhausted, and he certainly looks it - his hat pulled down low, some papers held in one hand, and his eyes half-lidded, seeing nothing in particular]
[a little while after this] [all Shinichi be warned] [in fact, -everyone- be warned]

Kaito wouldn't.
[1412 makes a grab for her, hands reaching for her throat, to slam her against the wall and make her hurt]
no subject
You...are....Kaito.

[She moves up her hands to touch his face. Even as she winced in pain, she didn't look away from him.]
Kaito...would never do this...not unless...something really, really wrong happened...
no subject
[he tugs Aoko to his chest, and holds her there, a parody of a hug, his mouth by her ear, his voice a harsh whisper]
I'm not Kaito. He died, a long long time ago, in a fire with his father screaming for help that nobody would give...
Long live 1412.

You...oh, Kaito...
[No wonder. To be there. To be right there.]
Aoko would have helped...if Aoko could have...she would have.
no subject
Didn't help.
[his hands shift slightly, pressing something against the back of her neck - a sharp point, digging just slightly into skin]
I wonder, does the miss realise how foolish she is, to let a killer close?
no subject
...it wouldn't be the first time. Aoko's almost been killed a few times.
But Kaito was always there.
no subject
And now he isn't.
[he begins to drag the blade slowly accross the back of her neck, the arm around her waist holding her firmly]

[There's a quiver in her voice and she's tense, a hand moving for her pocket. She wanted to believe in Kaito...
But there was only so many times a girl deals with psychos and doesn't think of back up plans.]
no subject
No, he's not.
[He digs the point of the knife in and twists, suddenly angry. How dare she press this point with him? How dare she?]
no subject
Yes...he is. He's just lost somewhere. Kaito wouldn't die so easily...
[It'd look like a cell phone, what she's pulled out. Her fingers were already pushing the needed buttons, but not the final one just yet.]
And Aoko knows this will only hurt you more in the end. Stop it, Kaito...or Aoko will have to punish you with the mop and fish combo again.
[There was no actual malice in her tone. Of course there wasn't. It was just how it was. Kaito made her mad, she chase him with a mop and maybe a fish. Venting and fun. That was all it was.]
