(no subject)

It seems everyone's getting in the mood for the holidays now that the mansion has been decorated. Ayumi's still wearing her school uniform, but instead of the skirt she's switched out for pants today; it's a little chilly, and socks just weren't cutting it!

For the most part, her holograms seem to have left her alone for now too, which is nice really- it was a little disconcerting, having them follow her even when she didn't have the deck and duel disk. For now, she can just enjoy having fun with this box of ornaments, and this enormous tree that's shown up in the lobby.

"Ahhhh... It's going to be so pretty when it's done..!" If only someone would help her though... (this thing is huge..!)

After a day of dodging mistletoe, Heiji exhausted, and just looking for a place to rest. He still hadn't a clue where anything in the mansion was, and the place seemed never ending.

It was no surprise, though, that he found his way back to the lobby. It seemed pretty constant to him so far, and he remembers seeing a parlor he could take a nap in just off to the side.

Except here was someone else decorating for the holiday. She kind of seemed vaguely familiar, but he couldn't place her as he stood and looked her over. Didn't seem dangerous at all either.

After awhile he spoke, curious. "Ya gonna be able t'get that whole thin yerself?"

Luckily, Shiro arrived with warm clothes anyway. Even if they do look rather baggy.

He approaches cautiously, eyes wide and trying not to bring attention to himself.

Don't mind if he starts to stare at you - you're very happy, Ayumi. And although it's not a bad thing, he's just not too used to it being directed at him.

"A-ah...! I haven't been here long..."

He's also trying to avoid the question.

"Ah... un." He nods, extremely socially awkward as he is, not knowing exactly what to say.

"...Hisoka?" Wait, wasn't that...? He shakes his head.

Asking if they were related was probably not one of the best things she could have done - but there was no way she could have known that, right?

TT_TT

"S-Sashitaru! Ah..." He trails off from the outburst. "S... Sashitaru Shiro..."

Which is obviously NOT his name. But he isn't going to be giving her any more than that. And by the look on his face, it should be obvious that this isn't one of his more favoured areas.

That squirrel doesn't make him any less jumpy - perhaps if he'd come from a time when those things were more common, it would have been cute. But coming from the seventies? N-not... really.

So- STARING.

He probably hasn't heard or listened to anything she said after he saw Watt-Squirrel.

Scared - and completely not understanding what this strange robot-creature is trying to do with him - Shiro stands stock still, eyes wide with panic.

Whatever this is, it might be soft, but it's big, bigger than he is, and he's never seen anything like it before-!

"A-Ayumi-chan...!"

Help me...!

While he is now free to move, it is much like - to him, anyway - being thrown from the frying pan and into the fire.

This new monster is bigger and scarier. Shiro just about manages to back away, tripping over himself as he does so and landing on his backside.

Ayumi, might it not be good to explain what they are to the poor boy?

"W-what...?" Yes, Watt. "Hologram...? Do you mean like in science fiction? But - they seem so real!"

All he has to go on are the movies that found their way over to Japan in the seventies. Like, Star Wars. Or maybe Star Trek. And anything else like that, or that would have come in a comic. He's never thought of this kind of thing being possible before!
