The new arrival this time around isn't all that obvious. It's likely you won't even see him, going about your business. But if you're going through the lobby, you'll likely hear him if it's quiet enough and you listen.

Somewhere, a young child is crying.

He smells something 'off' in the lobby today...

Koji managed to fall asleep in the lobby (again), and at the moment is trying to stretch out the sleep- it's the combination of a scent he's never picked up before and the sound of crying though that catches his attention though.

...Heh.

Have '14 year old' kid who probably looks similar (or maybe not) walking over. And tilting his head in confusion before speaking. "...Oi. What's going on..?"

Shiro - or so he'll call himself - doesn't properly hear Koji. Partially because he isn't paying enough attention to anything much right now, and partially because his cries are drowning out most other noises.

Also, since this one is entirely human with no special bits, he won't be able to get that there's anything off with the newcomer.

Koji frowns, and stoops down slightly before (rather bluntly) poking 'Shiro' without much care to the response. "Oi- whoever you are... If I were you, I'd stop crying before someone who'll take advantage of it shows up." That's... Nice.

That shuts him up.

Now you've got your double starting at you, and looking admittedly rather pathetic.

Interesting how double looks pathetic rather than even mildly shocked- and believe him, it's pulling a bad note here. "Hey..." His voice is a little less 'joking', and much more serious. Strangely enough, almost similar to the one he'd use with 'Kiyoiri' back home. "...You know... Whatever's going on where you're from... Can't get you here, okay..?"

Long... blink. He was listening. And it helped. But his attention was somewhat on something else.

"...Nii-san?"

If it sounds like he doesn't really know why he even said that, then it's probably true. Which is rather confusing, really. He looks away again, feeling like he's somehow done something wrong, and even if he's not going to get in trouble for it, he might get laughed at. Or pitied.

Nii?

Aww hell, it really IS a kid him. (With a brother too. Damn it.)

Well, not gonna lie on that... He sighs, scratching his head. "Nah... Sorry to say, but I'm not. Name's Koji- Hisoka Koji." A pause. How does one deal with legitimately child versions of themselves... "...You alright..?" Aside from the obvious, of course.

And a younger sister, which might come to light if he spent any time around girls younger than he is.

He opens his mouth, like he was thinking of saying something but closes it again, the words apparently failing him. "...oh."

And it looks like that requires thinking about too... although in the end all he does is nod.

Aside from the obvious, indeed.

Ahhhhhhggg why did HE get stuck with this one?

"Hey... You know, you're not the only one who let family behind from whatever world you just bounced out of alright? This place isn't so accommodating like that- one person is normally plenty." He just got lucky with his (mostly).

So far as Shiro was concerned, Hisoka could leave whenever he felt like it. It wasn't as though he expected anyone to stay.

Another shrug.

"No one'd come."

Facepalm.

GREAT. ALL DEAD. "C'mon kid... Don't be like that..." He sighs, taking a seat beside him. "I don't like seeing anyone upset you know... Gotta cheer 'm up, you know?"

Shiro blinks owlishly, confused. He doesn't quite understand why this person would be doing that.

"Everyone else calls me 'demon'... Or they say that I'm cursed." Because he had been the only one to survive. "No one else cares about seeing me upset."

Or at least, that's how things seem to him.

"Tch. Sounds like those guys are idiots. Trust me, I know demons- you aren't one of them! If anything," he adds with a tiger-ish grin, ears springing up as he rather childishly points to himself with both hands, "I'm a heck of a lot closer, hehehe!"

Koji is that really helping...

His first reaction is to shuffle away somewhat, but after the shock has passed, he calms back down, to a point.

"You... but... what are you, then?"

Interested, very curious... but also very, very wary.

Ears are going down for the moment, and he leans back against the wall with a shrug. "In a way, 'you'. In a way not really though. Got messed up in a few things, end result is that... This place likes to do that," he continues seriously. "It takes people from other worlds and keeps them there until it gets bored with them or something. I don't even know about the last one- for all I know I'm just passing the people who went 'home' in the halls without realizing it, heh."

"B-but-! You can't be... you can't be me... I'm me!"

This all seems a bit much for the poor kid right now, and Koji has just put into his head the idea that he is now going to grow up into a tiger-person. Somehow.

It gets too much, and he starts to sob again, this time much quieter, and trying to pretend that he isn't.

He wants to go home, but 'home' isn't any better, and the one he knew before that is gone.

Er...

O-Okay, rephrasing! "No I'm not..." Sigh...

"Look- I'm not 'you', I'm an 'alternate'. You know like... In comics, or tv? You're in another 'world' kid..! In this place, you can meet people from all kinds of places, okay..?" Just please. Stop crying. Please please please-

he can hear you damn it.

He's... read comics. Some of the other kids would leave them around sometimes. So he can relate to that one.

The crying peters off, from sobs to dry hiccoughs as he tries to catch his breath again.

"Do... do you think there's a... a me who all this didn't happen to, then?"

The grin fades, and his head thumps against the wall as he leans back. "I think there's lots of you who didn't have it like this... Whatever 'this' is. But at the same time," he continues with a sad smile, "That doesn't mean we don't have our own dark spots, ah?"

He isn't sure whether or not to be happy or sad about that. Which in turn makes him feel guilty - shouldn't he be wishing that no one has this sort of thing happen to them?

But he nods. So that Hisoka knows that he understands.

You know.

This is too gloomy. Time to smile or something! "Well!" He stands up, flashing a grin to the 'other' him. "Not going to get anything done sitting around here- Seeing how it's your first time, how about I show you around ah?"

"E-eh?! Ah... if it wouldn't bother you. Okay."

He stands on his own, wiping at his eyes with his sleeve as he does so.

...Come to think of it, now that he looks around? This place is BIG.

"Bah! Bothering people's my job." And you seem...

Ridiculously polite... "So. What kind of thing do you want to look for here first..?"

THAT IS NOT HOW YOU START A TOUR.

No, that is not how you start a tour, Hisoka. Which prompts Shiro to stare at you in a rather nonplussed way.

"Uh... what would you normally start the tour with?"

Open mouth.

Close mouth.

"...Well. That depends on what you want really..." NOT HELPING.

"...Food?"

It's been a few hours since lunch, and who knows how long since he arrived here? He's hungry.

"To the kitchens then..!"

He's just going to follow you, then. Staring at everything like the kid he is as they go.
